AEW superstar Daniel Garcia has been in the main event spotlight thanks to his budding feud with AEW Champion MJF (and Will Ospreay), who recently turned on him setting up a potential match at AEW All-In later this summer, but Garcia’s long-term future in AEW is in question.
At AEW Beach Break 3 as Garcia competed against Ospreay for the AEW International Championship but came up short thanks, in part, to MJF’s involvement in the match, which Garcia turned down forcing him to lose focus and, ultimately, lose the match.
The post match emotions of Garcia led to an MJF heel turn and a brutal beatdown of one of AEW’s rising stars.
But, with his contract set to expire later this year, many are wondering what the long-term status of Garcia in AEW is.
According to The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Garcia’s contract is set to expire in October of this year, but the expectation is that Garcia will be staying with All Elite Wrestling and ink a new deal with the company.
