Jade Cargill

AEW TBS champion Jade Cargill has offered some big praise for WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, who remains one of the best female wrestlers in the entire industry, and recently made her return to WWE after several months off.

Cargill is one of AEW’s rising stars and has been positioned as a legitimate force, but offered her praise for Flair’s work.

“I think Charlotte Flair is great” Cargill said, during an appearance on Bootleg Kev. “I think she’s very sound wrestler. She can do all the flippy shit that you want to do. She can go out there and have a hardcore match. I think she’s a total package that we have as far as an example for a woman wrestler today.

She leaves and comes back, and then she like, it’s like she never left” Cargill added. “I think she’s phenomenal at what she does. People can say whatever they want, I think she’s a great wrestler.”

Adam Cole Discusses Troubling Injury Recovery

Published

on

AEW superstar Adam Cole has opened up about what he calls a “scary” recovery from a second concussion that he suffered at AEW and NJPW’s ‘Forbidden Door’ event back in June 2022, with Cole set to make his return to the ring soon.

Cole specifically talked about memory loss as the most troubling aspect of his recovery:

”The memory stuff is the really, really scary part to me” Cole said, during an appearance on Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t CagesideSeats). “When you’re in the middle of a ring and there’s thousands of people around you and I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing. That was really scary. So, I knew pretty early on after my memory started going that something was wrong.”

Cole’s road to recovery as an especially long one.

“The crazy thing was that after even a month, it was like that’s when real serious side effects started happening” he said. “Everything I said in my return in-ring promo that I did all of that was true, and more. There was a lot of stuff that was happening very late into the healing process, or, what I thought was late, like a month-and-a-half, two months.”

Cole is gearing up for his return to AEW, with all signs pointing to him stepping back into the ring at Revolution next month.

Tony Khan Open to AEW/WWE Crossover

Tony Khan

AEW owner and booker Tony Khan is certainly open to the idea of AEW and WWE working together for a potential crossover supershow, despite Khan’s consistent blasting of WWE over the last few years.

“It’s something I would certainly be open to and I think it’s an interesting thing for the future” Khan said during an appearance on WTF with Marc Maron. “It’s not something that’s ever really been done. They’ve kind of existed in their own space. We are working with a lot of wrestling promotions.”

Khan’s AEW has already worked with a number of promotions such as Impact Wrestling and NJPW, and WWE has even warmed to the idea of working with other promotions, as they have with Impact Wrestling, NJPW, and NOAH recently.

Tony Khan Discusses Potential WWE Sale

Tony Khan

AEW owner Tony Khan is sharing his thoughts on a potential sale of his big competitor WWE, after rumors circulated that Khan, and his father, were among those interested in exploring a potential WWE purchase.

“I am interested in the news that there is potentially a sales process and certainly, I think we’ve shown, when there are acquisitions and transactions, we’re capable of making the big purchases, whether my dad steps up with the (Jacksonville) Jaguars or Fulham FC in the Premier League and he’s done such a great job building up the club and putting resources into it and we’re playing football at a high level” Khan said, during an appearance on The Maggie and Perloff Show.

“With AEW, we’ve shown that we can build a company. Even when I purchased Ring of Honor, that’s a very different thing than WWE, but Ring of Honor is a company with 20 years of history and I really have enjoyed running it and we’ve shown that we’re at all time highs in terms of every business metric since we relaunched it and it’s only going to get better. AEW is my main focus, but certainly, when that news is out there, it’s very interesting. Stay tuned to AEW Dynamite and AEW Rampage, you never know when I’m going to address something. On the other hand, it’s very preliminary to talk about that process. If there is a process there, which it sounds like there may be, I’m interested in being part of it.”

Khan also spoke on is he had any relationship with the McMahon family.

“No, I don’t have any relationship with him” he said. “I’ve talked with Stephanie and have had good conversations with Stephanie, but I don’t know Vince at all.”
