Jake Hagar has officially departed AEW.
According to Bodyslam.net’s Cassidy Haynes, Hagar’s contract recently expired and Hagar did not re-sign with the company making him a free agent. The report goes on to say that the decision to part ways was mutual.
Hagar arrived in AEW back in 2019 following his run with WWE under the name Jack Swagger where he would join Chris Jericho’s stable ‘The Inner Circle’ during the premier episode of AEW Dynamite.
Hagar would make his in-ring debut for the company at AEW’s Revolution in 2021 where he defeated Dustin Rhodes.
When the Inner Circle disbanded, Hagar would following Jericho to his new stable the ‘Jericho Appreciation Society’ but had not been utilized much since the Jericho Appreciation Society broke up in late 2023.
Hagar’s last match was a victory over Roderick Strong at AEW Rampage back on February 21st.
