WWE superstar Matt Hardy has been taking time off to heal from injuries amid rumors of his retirement, and transition to a role backstage as a producer, that continue to swirl, and he discussed those rumors during an appearance on Lillian Garcia’s ‘Chasing Glory’ podcast.
“People throw around the word retirement where typically if someone teases that, it’s retirement, but retirement is not a word I ever said” Hardy said, during the interview.
“If I walk away tomorrow and never wrestle another match again I’m good with everything I’ve done and achieved.”
Hardy stated that he is dealing with hip and lower back issues and is gauging to see how he recovers from those injuries, adding that it would be great to be able to bounce back and jump into the ring again, but if he cannot, he is fine with whatever is next for him.
