WWE and TNA are building a strong working relationship, a foundation that was set close to 2 years ago with then Knockouts Champion Mickie James appearing in the Royal Rumble and continued with current Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace competing in this year’s Royal Rumble.
Things continued on Tuesday night during the airing of the latest episode of NXT when Grace made a surprise appearance when she was announced as the next challenger for NXT Women’s champion Roxanne Perez, which will take place at NXT Battleground.
Grace was brought out when Perez demanded that NXT General Manager Ava reveal her next challenger, and came out carrying the TNA Knockouts Title on her shoulder.
Additionally, Grace will be facing Stevie Turner on next week’s episode of NXT.
Here is the current card for NXT Battleground:
- Sol Ruca vs. Lash Legend vs. Fallon Henley vs. Jaida Parker vs. Michin vs Kelani Jordan (Ladder match for the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Championship)
- Oba Femi (c) vs. Wes Lee vs. Joe Coffey (Triple threat match for the NXT North American Championship)
- Shayna Baszler vs. Lola Vice (NXT Underground match)
- Roxanne Perez (c) vs. TBA (NXT Women’s Championship)
- Axiom & Nathan Frazer vs The Good Brothers (NXT Tag Team Championship)

According to sources, TNA and WWE will be continuing and expanding their working relationship with NXT talent potentially appearing over on TNA television. With a milestone TNA anniversary coming up, former TNA stars and current WWE stars such as AJ Styles and Nick Aldis could make appearances on TNA television. As of now, only Roxanne Perez and Jordynne Grace are involved in the working relationship.
