WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes is getting set to defend his title against AJ Styles at Saturday’s WWE Backlash PLE event that takes place in France, with Rhodes fresh off his iconic victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
Rhodes ended Reign’s 1,316 day title reign and helped WWE usher in a new era.
Now, Rhodes turns his attention to a former WWE champion in Styles, whom he has never faced before, calling the match a “must win” and one he “must dominate”.
“I told AJ Styles this is a dream match for some people, sure, to me – it’s a legit must win” Rhodes said, during an appearance on ‘Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg. “Not just must win, but must dominate. Must show something.”
“I’d like to let people know there is so much more meat on the bone” Rhodes added. “There is so much more to me, and this run is the chance to validate it. It’s the mindset of ‘you’re never doing enough’, have to keep going… Everyone I know who is successful has that mindset and that’s where I’m at.”
