Madison Rayne has joined Ring of Honor, signing a one-year deal with the promotion.

Rayne announced the new deal during her appearance on The Taz Show, one week following her exit from WWE’s Mae Young Classic, in a match she lost to Mercedes Martinez during the first round of the tournament.

Let me preface this by saying that 2018 has been possibly my biggest year in wrestling, in 13 years, that’s saying a lot” Rayne said.

“It’s been very unexpected. A year and a half ago I wasn’t sure I was going to keep wrestling, or what my professional career looked like.

“I’ve been able to work every big promotion. I got to do All In, and I’m very humbled by all of those experiences. In doing that and having all of those opportunities, I was really give a chance to be able to get in there and see what was going to be best for me, my career, for my family and what made the most sense.

“After a really successful year of being kind of a wrestling nomad, I have found my home and I am so, so happy to announce that I have signed a one-year contract with Ring of Honor.”

According to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Meij is also receiving backlash.

“The initial reaction was that the feeling was that he talks down to the wrestlers, he then continued to say many of the wrestlers are concerned he has no history in the business as well.

There are people who in the past had never even considered WWE who are thinking about it, and others who were completely committed to staying who are probably still leaning that way, but are considering the WWE option.”

Kaitlyn Discusses Mae Young Classic

Published

Following her recent return to professional wrestling, former WWE Diva’s Champion Kaitlyn is back in WWE for the Mae Young Classic and is hoping that the tournament can give her a boost to the RAW or Smackdown roster.

Kaitlyn took a hiatus from wrestling following her release from WWE in 2014, and she believes that given her WWE experience, she won’t need to go through NXT to get to the main roster.

“Now that I’ve been there and done it, the stakes are higher, the level of competition is higher, so I see myself just going through it, going through the Mae Young Classic, going through NXT, going through the SmackDown roster, going through the Raw roster” Kaitlyn said, during an interview with ESPN. I know I’m capable of it, and I think the Mae Young Classic is just the beginning.”
