WWE is looking to expand into the Japanese market significantly and reports are surfacing that the company is forming a working relationship with Rossy Ogawa’s brand new promotion, Marigold.
Ogawa, who is the recently-fired founder of STARDOM, is hoping that the deal will allow Marigold to bring in WWE stars such as Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane to a future Marigold event that is slated to take place this summer, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Japanese superstar and former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Giulia is heading to WWE but is expected to compete for Marigold and NXT as well before her eventual move to the United States.
Giulia appeared at NXT Stand & Deliver alongside Ogawa, and the rumors suggest she will be allowed to compete in Marigold in addition to her commitments with WWE moving forward.
Giulia is set to appear at Marigold’s debut event in May 2024, and she is rumored to make her in-ring debut for NXT at July’s NXT Heatwave event.
