NWA Open to Being Developmental System for WWE

NWA owner Billy Corgan, who purchased the iconic pro wrestling promotion back in 2017, is open to working with a few promotions, and particularly has interest in doing business with WWE in a potential NWA-WWE partnership.

During an interview with The Metro, Corgan said that has had conversations with WWE regarding bringing NWA to WWE Network and Peacock.

“Very, very good discussions, very open and cool” he said. “They certainly liked what I was trying to do, and they’ve always been cool about what I was doing in the NWA, so I remain optimistic going into the future that there might be some business there to do.”

While WWE currently utilizes NXT as their developmental system, Corgan believes that the NWA could potentially be a developmental brand for the WWE where it can “help develop” wrestlers who aren’t main-roster ready.

Corgan is also willing to work with AEW, who he said “has a tremendous amount of talent under contract.”
