EC3 Discusses Decision To Leave Impact Wrestling For WWE

New NXT superstar EC3 was one of the hottest free agents since his departure from Impact Wrestling, although his time was limited on the open market as WWE swooped him to sign him to the NXT brand.

EC3 recently conducted an interview with Newsweek and the former Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion talked about the decision to end his run in Impact Wrestling/TNA.

“My decision to leave Impact had nothing to with their business or finances and everything with me wanting to challenge myself to something new. Leaving Impact was a very difficult decision as I had six months left on a very lucrative and talent-friendly contract. Anthem lived up to that contract and always treated me with the utmost respect as a businessman and a person.”

Sami Callihan Signs New Deal With Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling has inked Sami Callihan to a new deal, according to a report from PW Insider.

Callahan, who also works for promotions such as Major League Wrestling and Lucha Underground, has found a good niche under the Impact Wrestling banner. A future X-Division Championship match between Brian Cage and Callihan was setup at the recent Bound for Glory PPV.

Doug Williams Announces Retirement

Doug Williams, the legendary British wrestler who has had a brilliant 25-year career, lost a career ending match to Trent Seven for the Atlas Championship at Progress’ Hello Wembley show on Sunday.

“It was more their decision than mine,” Williams said, during an interview with SportBible last week.

“They approached me with doing a different kind of storyline, which was a disgruntled veteran that was bitter about the new guys taking over. But I switched it on them and said I’m thinking about retiring next year anyway, why don’t we do a storyline that could culminate in that possibly happening?”
